Michael (Mike) Lebeis grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan, and graduated from Royal Oak Dondero High School in 1972.  He attended the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor from 1972 through 1977, where he obtained a B.S. (1976) and M.S. (1977) in Atmospheric Science. After graduation, Mike joined Detroit Edison Company in 1978, and has worked at Detroit Edison (DTE Energy) for the last 41 years in various environmental groups at DTE.  He has specialized in:

• Air quality modeling
• Air source permitting
• State Implementation Plan (SIP) development
• Air quality data analysis
• Air quality monitoring
• Federal & State air regulation development
